This Season’s Hottest Secret For Shiny Hair

Have you ever had those days where you feel like everyone has better hair than you? Have you ever been struck by how shiny and healthy a random person’s hair is but too shy to ask them their secret? If so we’ve got news for you! We’ve figured out what the secret is and you’re going to be amazed when you read it too. Did you know that all of the products we use on our hair, even our shampoos and conditioners leave behind residue and particles in our hair? These particles along with other elements from the atmosphere can build up over time and eventually they begin to weigh down our hair, making it dull, lifeless, and dry. The secret to having shiny, healthy hair is to get rid of these particles.

The best part is that there are a number of simple home remedies that will all do the trick!

Mix ¼ of a cup of baking soda with 3 tablespoons of water and make a paste. Massage into your hair getting down to your scalp and leave it in for at least 10 minutes.

Next make an apple cider vinegar and water mixture by mixing one parts vinegar to four parts water in a spray bottle. Spray thoroughly through your hair and work it into your scalp with your fingers. Let it sink in for a few minutes. Wash thoroughly with cool water and follow with a conditioner if you feel necessary. You’ll notice a huge difference in the way your hair feels and looks after this treatment. That being said, this treatment shouldn’t be used more than once a week!

Another treatment you can use to get rid of build up in your hair is to combine ½ cup of malt vinegar with ½ cup of water and two tablespoons of lemon or lime juice. Mix together thoroughly and apply to your hair after you have already shampooed it. The shampoo should be rinsed out but your hair should still be very wet. Once you have applied it leave it in for 15 minutes. Put on a shower cap to avoid any drips.

Once 15 minutes have passed rinse out the mixture and use conditioner as you normally would. Your hair will feel lighter and bouncier right after you’ve washed it and once it dries you will be able to see a huge improvement in shine as well.
Give these two techniques a try and let us know what you think!
