5 Genius Mani Hacks

You may have heard of the many benefits of Vaseline. A fabulous mani is just one of them. Get perfect cuticles with a bit of the stuff. Prior to painting, line cuticles with a Q-tip that’s been dipped in some Vaseline to prevent the polish from sticking to the sides. The Vaseline will work to create a barrier between nail and the skin so you are able to wipe away mistakes easily once you’re all done.

Thought toothpaste was just for pearly whites? As if! Brighten your nails with a bit toothpaste. Scrub nails with whitening toothpaste to get rid of leftover color and polish off ruddy nail beds.

Chipping a fresh manicure is no joke, but there are ways to alleviate the stress. Cut off a tiny bit of an unused teabag and place it over your crack or chip. Adhere with nail glue and paint a few coats of polish to fix the boo-boo in no time.

Nothing can ruin a day quite like smudged nail polish, but luckily, you aren’t doomed to repeat these forever. There are a few tricks you can work with, one of which is the ever-so-elegant process of licking smudges away by wetting the pad of your thumb with saliva and softly smoothing dents to push polish back into its proper place. Brilliant!

Maybe we’re just hungry, but we’ve heard cooking oil can do wonders for quick-drying your polish. Spray nails with Pam cooking spray in lieu of a top coat to accomplish the same. This offers minimum protection, so don’t go banging your fingers against objects if you want your polish to stay in tact.

I actually use cooking oil to dry my nails, olive oil to be exact. It works very well and it is super fast. I never tried the Vaseline method before, but I will give it a shot. I bet it still will not be better then the cooking oil. As somebody in the comments mentioned using honey, it works very well to.

Call me crazy but I use honey. My mother told me to use it in my teen year and ever since my nails never looked better. If you want a natural alternative go with honey. Girls I guarantee you will love your nails when you put that fav. color of yours.
