Nowadays it seems like there is one beauty trend that everyone from teenagers to adults and everyone in between is obsessed with and that’s teeth whitening. In the past decade or so the standard of changed to make white teeth a top indicator of good looks, health, and beauty. While we love the look of a really white smile, there are definitely some things to consider about teeth whitening. The first is that while white teeth look great on anyone, it’s important that they shouldn’t be so white that they look unnatural or blinding. We’ve all seen those people with incredibly bleached teeth and it looks far from attractive. A good indicator to keep in mind is that your teeth should not be whiter than the whites of your eyes. The second thing to keep in mind about teeth whitening is that it’s incredibly expensive. That’s why we’ve gathered some ways you can easily whiten your teeth at home without paying a great deal of money to do it.
1. Mix a few spoonfuls of baking soda along with freshly squeezed lemon juice until it forms a paste. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply it liberally to your teeth. Leave it on for 1 minute and rinse thoroughly with water. It’s important that you leave it on for only one minute or otherwise the baking soda and lemon juice can have a corrosive effect on your enamel.
Strawberries contain natural property called malic acid that is known to whiten teeth. In order to take advantage of this acid you either rub strawberries directly onto your teeth for 2 – 3 minutes and then rinse your mouth with water. You can also crush strawberries into a paste and then mix with a couple tablespoons of baking soda. Apply to your toothbrush and then brush your teeth with the mixture for 2 – 3 minutes. Afterwords rinse thoroughly to get all of it off.
3. Apple Cider Vinegar
If you have coffee or tea stains on your teeth then this method is for you. Apple cider vinegar is known to get out stubborn stains from almost any surface and the same applies to your teeth. Brush consistently with Apple Cider Vinegar and then rinse and brush with your regular toothpaste. It will take time to see results but if you are consistent you will eventually see results similar to getting your teeth professionally whitened.
