Girls, have you ever been in a situation where you broke out big time right before a big event? It always seems like acne targets us most when we have something important to look forward to whether it be prom, a wedding, or a party. It can be extremely frustrating especially if you’ve taken extensive measures to keep your skin clear. While it may seem like the world is out to get you when you wake up with a huge pimple on the day of your birthday party, there’s reason not to despair. There are a few remedies that will help reduce your pimple immediately and fight any redness that comes along with it. So if you find yourself in such a situation try one (or all) of these following tips.
Apply a huge dot of toothpaste on top of your pimple as soon as you notice yourself starting to break out. While it sounds ridiculous, toothpaste has many properties that help to fight the redness of acne. They will also reduce the size of your pimple because of the drying elements that it contains. Leave the toothpaste on for 20 minutes to get great results. You’ll notice a reduction in redness and swelling immediately.
2. Ice Cubes
Apply an ice cube to the affected area of your face for a result similar to what you’ll get from toothpaste. Depending on your skin type one could work better than the other so make sure you try both! The ice cube might make your acne seem more red from the cold but once the impact of the cold wears off you’ll notice a major reduction in the size of your pimple. Ice after all is used to reduce swelling after an injury and the same logic applies to acne.
3. Tea Tree or Witch Hazel Oil
Both of these oils are great for your skin whether or not you have acne. They both contain properties which rid your skin of extraneous oils and dirt that your cleanser isn’t able to remove. Apply some tea tree or witch hazel oil onto a cotton swab and apply them to the affected area. You’ll quickly notice a difference in the appearance of your skin.
4. Aspirin Paste
Take a few tablets of Aspirin and crush them into a fine powder. Mix in some water a few drops at a time until you have a paste like texture. Use a cotton swab and apply it to the affected area. Let it harden and wash off. You’ll notice a difference in your skin because Aspirin contains salicylic acid which is known to be great for fighting acne.
5. A clay mask
Clay masks draw out excessive moisture from your skin and are a great way to fight off acne quickly. If you notice yourself starting to break out apply a clay mask and wash off with warm water for a huge improvement in your skin.
