It’s almost summer and that’s reason enough to rejoice but it’s important to remember that each season poses a distinct set of challenges to our skincare routine. One of the biggest mistakes any girl can make is not changing her skincare routine with each season. What’s best for your skin in the harsh winter cold certainly won’t be what’s best when the hot and humid days of summer roll around. Keeping that in mind we’ve done our research and rounded up the best set of skincare tips you can find for the summer. Here’s what you need to know!
Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen. We cannot stress the importance of wearing sunscreen in the summer (and all year for that matter) enough! In the summer we’re more likely to spend time outside, whether we’re at the beach or by the pool we’re bound to get tons of exposure to the sun. That can wreak havoc on your skin and not to mention your health. The exposure to UV rays in the summer heat can lead to increased chances of skin cancer. That’s why it’s important that we take the easy step of putting on sunscreen anytime we’re about to head outside. Not only will it keep your skin sunburn free, it’ll leave you healthy and confident while you’re out in the sun.
The next tip we have for summer is to keep your skin hydrated from the inside and out. In the summer the constant exposure to sun means that our skin is loosing more water than it normally would. In order to keep your skin in pristine condition, drink lots and lots of water and use a light moisturizer to restore nutrients that your skin is loosing.

While it’s important to hydrate it’s equally as important to exfoliate in the summer. In the summer we’re more likely to sweat because of the heat. The sweat brings everything that’s in our pores to the surface of our skin. If we don’t exfoliate all of that gunk that’s being brought up will clog your pores and cause you to break out. The heat is basically acting as a face mask so it’s important that we reciprocate and do our part to keep our skin clean and clear.
Don’t forget about your lips! It can be easy to overlook your lips and focus on your skin but your lips need the same care and attention that your face needs so that they don’t get dry and chapped. Whenever you’re about to go out in the sun make sure to slap on a thick layer of lip balm to keep them soft and supple.
